This is a hand painted wood Nagual mask, most likely from Oaxaca, Mexico. Nagual is a shape shifter who is usually a man who changes into a Jaguar/Puma/Wolf/Horse. They are linked with pre-columbian shamanistic practices used for divination rituals.
