Latin American Alebrijes, Masks and Village Scenes

Exhibit Description

The museum is displaying Latin American alebrijes, masks and village scenes for Hispanic Heritage Month at the Austin Public Library. 

Alebrijes | 2nd floor gallery entrance
Oaxacan wood carved alebrijes from the museum's collections will be displayed. Accompanying the alebrijes is art by Austin’s paper maker and artist, Yama Ploskonka.

Village Scenes and Figures from Latin America | Children’s Area
A mix of clay figures from Mexican artist Josefina Aguilar and Ecuadorian miniature village scenes will be displayed. 

Masks from Latin America | 6th Floor Living Room
A selection of the museum's Latin American masks will be displayed.
